Today, there are four wines produced by our family Business: a white, Pietrasca, and three reds: Ceppitaio, Sassobucato and Barbicone. The names of this wines are derived from the names of localities within our estate, and surrounding vicinity.

Barbicone also takes its name from a location in which we have a vineyard; this wine is made from 80% Sangiovese and the rest from typical grapes of this zone: Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Cannaiolo and Giacomino, which are produced by old vines. Barbicone is aged for one year in French oak barriques, and after in the bottle for ten months. It has a lighted purple color, with a intense wood fruits and spices scent . To drink at 20°C, it’s very good to accompany important first and second courses, with game, for example “pappardelle al cinghiale” or “fagianella alle prugne”. |
