The Wine
Ceppitaio, our basic red, is composed mainly of Sangiovese (50%); Merlot, Cabernet, and Syrah (40%); and Colorino and Ciliegiolo (10%). “Ceppitaio” is the name of a hill at our farm that is home to a large population of the wild plants, locally referred to as “ceppite,” that grow on uncultivated lands.
Bright purple in colour, this all-round, versatile wine is savoured at a temperature of 18°C.
